Custom wedding scarves make a wedding favor people actually use: they get worn at the reception, they come out every winter and they keep your date in the family’s rotation for years. They start at 50 pieces, in a 55 × 7 in (140 × 18 cm) size, with your names, your date and your wedding colors. The right fabric depends mostly on the season and the look you want.
When a scarf beats the usual favors
Candles, cookies and koozies disappear quickly. A scarf stays. It works especially well when:
- You are a sports couple. You met at a game, you hold season tickets, or you are a “house divided” pair from rival schools. A scarf in your team’s colors with your names instead of the team name gets a laugh from everyone.
- It is a fall or winter wedding. Barn venues, mountain lodges, outdoor ceremonies in October, first-look photos in the cold. Handing out scarves as guests arrive is practical and looks great in group shots.
- There is a theme. Tartan, vintage college, ski lodge, or your hometown’s colors. The scarf becomes part of the day, not just a takeaway.
- You want a bridal party gift. A shorter run with a different line for groomsmen and bridesmaids, alongside the guest favor.

Which fabric for your wedding?
Four techniques are available. For a wedding, three stand out.
Sublimated satin: any color, even photos
Sublimated satin is printed by dye sublimation on polyester satin. There is no color limit: watercolor florals, gradients, a monogram over a photo of the two of you. The two sides can differ, for example your names on one side and the date and venue on the other. It is the lightest and least warm option, ideal for spring and summer weddings where the scarf is a keepsake more than a layer. It is also the most affordable.
HD woven: the elegant pick
An HD woven scarf is woven in polyester, with up to 8 colors and very crisp detail. Fine lettering, interlocking initials and small motifs come out sharp. It is lighter than a knit and its tailored look suits a formal wedding. Again, each side can carry a different design.
Knit: warm, and pure game-day spirit
A classic knit scarf is double-layer acrylic, thick and warm, with up to 3 yarn colors. The back shows the design in reversed colors, and fringe is included. It is the real stadium scarf: perfect for a couple of die-hard fans or a December wedding. For a crest or finer detail, the HD knit goes up to 7 colors.
Wording ideas
The 55 × 7 in format leaves room for a short, readable line. Some that work:
- names and date: “EMMA & JAKE 10.17.27”;
- a play on a team chant: “TEAM NEWLYWEDS”, “GO BRIDE & GROOM”;
- the place and year: “ASPEN 2027”, “BIG SKY WEDDING”;
- your wedding hashtag, which also helps collect guests’ photos.
On a two-sided scarf, split it up: names on one side, date on the other. Keep each side short: past about 20 characters, the letters shrink and readability drops. Our scarf slogan ideas have more inspiration.
Matching your wedding colors
For knit and woven scarves, you pick from 16 yarn colors: black, white, gray, red, maroon, orange, yellow, gold, green, forest green, sky blue, royal blue, navy, purple, pink and brown. Shades are matched to Pantone references on the proof, so you can get close to your invitations or décor. Classic pairings: navy and gold, maroon and white, forest green and gold, pink and gray.
If your palette relies on pastels, blush tones or precise gradients, sublimated satin is the most faithful option, since it is not limited to yarn colors.
In the scarf configurator, try your colors, add an edge stripe, pick a pattern and watch the price update live. Share the design link with your partner, your planner or your mom before you decide.
How many to order, and the budget
The minimum is 50 pieces per design. Start from the number of households or adult guests, then add a few extras for anyone who wants a second one.
The unit price drops at 100 pieces, so for a guest list in the 85 to 99 range, compare the total at 100 in the configurator: rounding up can cost about the same. Per-piece prices for every technique are on the custom scarf pricing page. Listed prices exclude shipping, applicable taxes and import duties, and your final quote confirms the delivered price.
The individual poly bag option is a must for weddings: each scarf arrives packed and ready for a chair, a place setting or a basket at the entrance.
Timeline: when to order
The calendar is the part to watch, especially as the to-do list grows.
- Design: build your scarf in the configurator and send a quote request.
- Approve the artwork: your free digital proof arrives within 24 business hours, with unlimited revisions. Nothing is produced until you approve it.
- Production: allow 4 to 6 weeks after approval, per our production time page. Rush production shortens that; the exact date is confirmed on your quote.
- Delivery and prep: keep a week or two to sort the scarves, set the tables and absorb any shipping delay.
In practice, place your order at least two months before the wedding. For a date between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, aim for three: a winter wedding scarf should arrive well before the big day.

How to design a team scarf
To design a team scarf, pick a technique, set two high-contrast colors, keep the text to about 15 characters, add a clean logo, order at least 50 pieces and approve your free digital proof. Production then takes 4 to 6 weeks, so work back from the date you need them.
How to wash a knit scarf
Wash a knit scarf in cold or lukewarm water, up to 86°F (30°C), by hand or on the gentle cycle in a mesh bag, then lay it flat to dry. Keep it out of the dryer. Woven and satin scarves follow the same rules, with a cool iron on the back if needed.
Knit vs. woven scarves
Knit (jacquard) scarves are thick, warm and reversible, built for cold stands. Woven scarves are thin, crisp and can carry a different design on each side, which suits indoor arenas and detailed logos. HD knit and sublimated satin fill the gaps for multi-color crests and photo prints.
