Embroidery vs. knit: the difference

On a knit jacquard, the logo is knitted into the fabric: it is part of the scarf. Embroidery is stitched on top: the thread forms a glossy, raised logo with very sharp edges, even at small sizes. Many clients combine both, with the name knitted in and the logo embroidered.

The embroidered logo add-on costs $1.40 per scarf on top of the scarf price. Tick it in the last step of the online designer and the price updates live.

When to choose embroidery

  • Client or employee gifts: a clean scarf with a small embroidered logo on one end. See our ideas for custom corporate scarves.
  • Anniversary editions: a 25th, 50th or 100th season scarf with an embroidered crest.
  • Staff and officials: coaches, board members, volunteers and game-day staff.
  • Premium team store items: a higher-priced scarf next to the standard custom knit scarf.

Helpful reading

  • How to wash a knit scarf

Wash a knit scarf in cold or lukewarm water, up to 86°F (30°C), by hand or on the gentle cycle in a mesh bag, then lay it flat to dry. Keep it out of the dryer. Woven and satin scarves follow the same rules, with a cool iron on the back if needed.

  • Logo on a knit scarf

For a clean logo on a knit scarf, send a vector file (or a PNG at least 1,000 px wide on a transparent background), stay within the technique's color limit and simplify anything thinner than a stitch. Our designer fine-tunes the rest on your free digital proof.
