Why teams pick it

  • Very crisp edges, even on small text
  • Up to 8 colors
  • A different design on the front and back
  • Thin and light: comfortable in spring and early fall

Good to know

  • Not as warm as a knit scarf
  • No gradients or photos (choose satin for those)
  • Slightly higher price at small quantities

What is an HD woven scarf?

Instead of being knitted, the scarf is woven on a jacquard loom with very fine threads, the same process used for brand labels inside clothing. The threads cross at right angles and form a flat, dense surface where letters and logos look sharp and clean.

Two woven panels are then sewn together. That means you can put the team name on one side and a sponsor, a slogan or the season schedule on the other. It is the cleanest way to get a double-sided scarf with two completely different designs.

Typical uses

  • Businesses: client gifts, trade show giveaways or employee swag with an accurate logo (see custom corporate scarves).
  • Tournaments and events: the event name on the front, sponsors on the back (see custom event scarves).
  • Clubs and schools: a premium scarf in the team store alongside the classic knit.
  • Warm-weather markets: teams in Texas, Florida, Arizona or Southern California often prefer a lighter woven scarf over a heavy knit.

Woven vs. knit: how to choose

If fans will wear the scarf outdoors in January, go with a custom knit scarf. If the priority is logo accuracy, brand colors and a two-sided design, the woven scarf wins. Still undecided? Build both in the online designer and compare them side by side, or check our pricing page to see the difference per scarf.

Guide

Helpful reading

  • Custom wedding scarves

Custom wedding scarves start at 50 pieces with your names and date: sublimated satin for full color and photos, HD woven for an elegant look, and a knit for a fall or winter wedding. Order at least two months before the big day.

  • How to wash a knit scarf

Wash a knit scarf in cold or lukewarm water, up to 86°F (30°C), by hand or on the gentle cycle in a mesh bag, then lay it flat to dry. Keep it out of the dryer. Woven and satin scarves follow the same rules, with a cool iron on the back if needed.

  • Knit vs. woven scarves

Knit (jacquard) scarves are thick, warm and reversible, built for cold stands. Woven scarves are thin, crisp and can carry a different design on each side, which suits indoor arenas and detailed logos. HD knit and sublimated satin fill the gaps for multi-color crests and photo prints.

Frequently asked questions

Is a woven scarf as warm as a knit scarf?

No, it is thinner and lighter. For outdoor games in the middle of winter, pick a knit. The woven scarf is great for fall and spring, indoor events and keepsakes.

Can we put a sponsor logo on the back?

Yes. Because the two sides are made separately, each one can have its own design. The online designer lets you enter different text for the back.

How many colors can a woven scarf have?

Up to 8 thread colors. Beyond that, or for gradients, a sublimated satin scarf prints unlimited colors.

Do woven scarves come with fringe?

Fringe is optional on woven scarves. Many corporate and event clients go without for a cleaner look; supporters usually keep it.
